We come to you with heavy hearts to share the story of an incredible guy, Kevin Griesemer, who has touched the lives of so many with his strength, humor, independence, bold spirit and love of Sports. At just 47 years old, Kevin is facing a battle that no one should have to endure: a diagnosis of cirrhosis of the liver. This is a very debilitating and terminal disease.

While Kevin certainly takes full responsibility for his actions and would do things differently if he could, he can’t go back in time. For over a year, Kevin has shown courage in the face of this life-altering condition. Known for his resilience and self-reliance, he has never been one to ask for help, believing instead in standing strong on his own two feet. However, as we navigate this challenging journey together, Kevin recognizes that desperate times call for desperate measures. He is now reaching out with an open heart and a humble request for support.

Cirrhosis has taken a toll on Kevin's health and daily life, and while he continues to fight with everything he has, the reality is that his time may be limited. It’s a daunting thought, but Kevin hopes to inspire others to reflect on their own choices and decisions. He believes that life is a precious gift, and by sharing his story, he encourages everyone to seek the good in themselves and others. And take care of your physical health.

His condition has worsened over time, leading to complications like anemia, thrombocytopenia, portal venous hypertension, multiple regenerative nodules, and an enlarged spleen from decompensated liver disease.

This illness has completely taken over his life. He has been denied Social Security benefits multiple times despite being unable to work or function daily. He experiences severe memory loss, depression, and constant fatigue. In December, we almost lost him for the second time when he was rushed to the ICU due to a life-threatening hematologic reaction. It was the scariest moment of our lives.

Kevin desperately needs a liver transplant to survive, but right now, he has zero income, no vehicle, and is facing homelessness. He is going to be placed on the waiting list. The financial burden is overwhelming, and I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t do this alone.
