Help Ease Darvin's Burden

Donation protected
This campaign is dedicated to my parents. I am 24  and have watched my dad suffer from medical problems for most of my life. When I was in the third grade Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Because of unexpected complications from the surgery,  he was required to spend an extended amount of time in the hospital meaning time away from work and large hospital bills. He has also had to go through multiple surgeries to shock his heart due to having irregular heartbeats. Then in 2013 he was diagnosed with Renal Kidney Failure. This brought him really low making it hard and sometimes impossible for him to go to work. Hoping for a cure, his name was put on the National Kidney Foundation list. In the meantime he started doing dialysis every day, sometimes up to 3 times per day. Being a hard match, (only 1 chance out of every 9), no one seemed to be a match. Now come with me a little ways on my journey...I got married in August of 2016 to Dillon, the best boy in the world. Next best to him though was his little sister Madison, who had unselfishly dreamed all of her life of giving a kidney to somebody. God's hand was involved and working things out more perfectly than we'll ever comprehend. After much rigorous testing we got the miracle phone call we had been waiting for - Madison was a perfect match for my dad! On October 23 my family, along with Dillon's family, met in Kansas City at the University of Kansas Hospital for the long awaited kidney transplant. Surgery was a success and the kidney started functioning immediately. With much rejoicing  we had high hopes of dad bouncing back to his normal self again. He was supposed to be off work for only 8 weeks and planned on returning at the beginning of the new year. We're now  20 weeks post surgery and complications keep arising. Thankfully he is back to work as of Monday, but there still is lots of traveling to appointments requiring days off of work. The kidney transplant along with the numerous other smaller issues has brought many financial struggles  to my parents. My mom has worked outside the home for years and   endeavored to shoulder the financial  burden these medical illnesses have ensued. But as we all know medical debt from a major surgery is huge and is a hard burden for anyone to carry. I want to ease the burden from my mom's shoulders but I can't do it alone. Can you help just a little and then pass the word along? It would mean more to me than you'll ever know. Last but not least, thank you to those who have already given. We feel very blessed to have so many friends who care. <3hugs
