My name is Meghan and I’m creating this gofundme on behalf of Chris Parker, or Parker to most of us, who as most of you know has been like a second father to me and a huge part of mine and my families lives.

Chris Parker has spent a great deal of his life doing what he enjoys best, doing things for others. He joined the volunteer fire rescue department in 1978 in Switzerland, Florida, and eventually moved to the Saint Augustine Beach volunteer fire department. Chris completed his career in public safety retiring from the St. John’s County sheriffs office..

During his career, Chris dealt with many medical situations, to include three fractured vertebrae from a boating incident, double pneumonia caused by an infectious mass on his lung that resulted in cardiac arrest while being treated, a ruptured gallbladder that resulted in a gangrenous infection in his abdomen, as well as causing damage to his liver. He had two separate bouts with Covid, stage four cancer of the prostate and lymph node, which he has beat. Most recently he has had a spike in his glucose count, which is the latest medical issue. He is dealing with to include insulin injections daily.

The latest medical situations came after his retirement and prior to obtaining Medicare.

Trying to stay on the positive side of the medical providers this has drained his retirement fund and has caused a month to month battle to keep the normal bills paid. I’m creating this gofundme, on his behalf and with his permission to try to help ease the financial burden that comes with all the medical bills while also trying to just survive.
