My name is Jennifer, I am the sister of Darrel and mother of Braxtyn.

Earlier last week Braxtyn expressed how he wanted to go night fishing because he loves fishing. My brother, being the uncle he is, got excited and was all for going with him! He loved to do all things with our kids, hardly ever missed any of their events. They were supposed to go Friday night but storms were in the radar so they decided to wait til Saturday. Saturday night comes they go fishing and around 4am my brother made a phone call to his girlfriend telling her they were ready. Waiting for her arrival they casted another line in but this time was different. Braxtyn said all night whenever Darrel thought he had something he would stand up and reel his line in. This time Darrel stood up and fell straight back into the river. Braxtyn expressed that he ran over to jump in after him to try to save him but he couldn’t see him so he called 911. I’m so glad he did.

My brother in just the last two years has struggled with seizures. He’s been on many medications but none seemed to do the job. This current one he was on was working better than the rest to where he’d go many days without having issues. Due to this he was unable to hold a job where life insurance was offered (but thankfully had an amazing person allowed him to be his coworker and help him everyday through his struggles).

My parents have small life insurance policies but as we all know prices of things are outrageous, including funerals and headstones. I am asking for any type of help to allow my parents to bury their son without having to figure this nightmare out alone. Even if it’s just a prayer.
