On July 3rd our 6 year old son was struck in the eye with a firework spark while watching fireworks because a large firework malfunctioned, blowing up on the ground instead of in the air. Because of this burn 90% of his cornea was burnt off. While most of our surgeries have been at the University of Minnesota, we have also traveled to the University of Iowa. While we were hopeful that his eyesight would be saved, our recent news has been that the best route for now is a prosthetic eye. The funds donated to our family will go towards paying for Beckett's medical bills, and travel expenses. Our family also asks for prayers during this traumatic time. We have been updating Beckett’s story though caringbridge which can be accessed here https://www.caringbridge.org/site/e0883cb9-3ba6-11ef-881e-eb6d4d7402c5?utm_source=website_share&utm_medium=share_button&utm_term=&utm_content=link_share_button&utm_campaign=private_home_page.
