Helping Earl Recover After a Serious Accident
Story:
Hellos I’m Brittney key, Earls wife. On October 16th, Earl had a terrible accident while cutting down trees. He fell off a ladder and was rushed to Limestone Medical Center, where we found out he had broken ribs (5–9) and a cut on his liver. He was then transported to Hillcrest and placed in the ICU for several days before finally being able to come home.
On October 24th, things took a scary turn. Earl started passing out, and we had to call 911. At LMC, we learned the bleeding had never stopped. His white blood count was very high, his blood levels were low, and his stomach was full of blood. He was transferred to Temple Baylor Scott & White and placed back in the ICU.
On October 26th, Earl had surgery to remove 2.6 liters of blood from his stomach. And had to receive 3 blood transfusions. Thankfully, there was no active bleeding. He will stay in the hospital for a few more days and still has a long road to recovery before he can return to work.
Earl is our family’s main provider, and being out of work for the next few months will be a big challenge. We don’t like asking for help, but any amount would mean so much and help us stay on our feet while Earl heals. The money will go to our bank account to help pay for bills.
We truly appreciate every prayer, message, and donation. Thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time. ❤️
