Help For My Dad After His Heart Attack & Stroke
Donation protected
Thanksgiving evening my dad experienced a major heart attack. The doctors determined it was severe enough that it looked like he needed a triple bypass. That night he was taken by ambulance from Wooster, Ohio down to the hospital at OSU in Columbus. After thorough tests were run, the doctors determined that a triple bypass was too risky so they choose to put in stents into the arteries that they could. The month of December consisted of 2 surgeries spaced out 2 weeks apart.
He was discharged and recovering at home when his lungs began filling up with fluid and he developed pneumonia.
On January 4th, he experienced a stroke. He lost his speech and some motor skills. My mom called 911 quickly enough that EMS was able to give him a shot to try and stop the stroke. He was life-flighted back down to the hospital at OSU in Columbus. There they discovered he had atrial fibrillation or AFib which is when the heart beats too slowly, too fast, or in an irregular way. So they were treating the stroke, and pneumonia and planning surgery to put in a defibrillator. After the surgery, my mom and dad headed back to Wooster.
My dad can no longer work and my mom is taking care of him full-time while working from home on her business as well. He has good days and bad days. He isn't able to do most of what he had been used to doing and generally is still resting and recovering.
To help alleviate the financial burden of medical bills accrued and the loss of my dad's income, I hope you will consider donating a small amount. Even a small amount will help! Thank you so much!
