Help End School-to-Prison Pipelines for Black & Brown Boys

Tax deductible

In 2015, I read Soar by David Banks and learned about the Eagle Academy Foundation and its mission to support young men of color in underserved communities. Eagle Academy opened its first school in the Bronx and has since expanded to five locations across New York City and Newark, NJ, helping break the cycle of the school-to-prison pipeline.

In 2018, I had the privilege of working at one of the Eagle Academy schools for three years, which was a highlight of my teaching career. Now, I am fundraising for the 20th anniversary of the Eagle Academy Foundation and their Taking Flight campaign, an initiative to raise 10 million dollars to double their impact of reaching an additional 50,000 young men of color across the U.S.

The Taking Flight campaign will help to:
  • Train an additional 1,500 educators and staff members across the country
  • Expand college access and workforce readiness programs
  • Increase staffing to support their national program, the Eagle Institue and Eagles Soaring Beyond
  • Strengthen technology platforms to expand training.

I’ve set a personal goal to raise $15,000 before or by February 25, 2025. Your support can help change the lives of young men of color living in marginalized neighborhoods within New York City and beyond!

Thank you for contributing and making a difference!
