Help Dylan Record His EP "Lotus"

Hello, my name is Dylan Hayes, and I'm fundraising for an EP of my original neo-soul jazz-influenced music that I'll be recording on April 4th and 5th at Dead Aunt Thelma's recording studio in Portland, Oregon. This EP will feature some of Portland's finest musicians; Sarah Clarke on vocals, Sam Arnold on bass, Machado Mijiga on drums as well as some special guests.

In celebration of my girlfriend Ellie Ulrich and I being together for 6 years now as of March 11th, I wanted to dedicate the songs on this EP to her with lyrics written by myself. These recordings will be a first for me in terms of writing lyrics for my music. I've written lyrics to one of my previously recorded songs titled "Song For E" as well as a brand new composition of mine titled "You And Me Were Meant To Be". The title track for this EP is "Lotus" which will be one of two tracks without lyrics and will feature our bassist Sam Arnold. The last song on the EP will be an instrumental tune of mine titled "A New Beginning" that I wrote during the beginning of the pandemic.

I chose Portland’s first-call recording engineer Sacha Müller as well as local legend Dana White for mastering my EP.

I plan to do an EP release show at The 1905 on my birthday, June 4th.
