Help Dylan on his road to recovery
Donation protected
On Friday March 1, 2024 my dear son Dylan was in a motorcycle accident. He had gone out riding for the day with my husband Derek. Dylan entered a turn too fast and collided with the back of a truck. His left leg was badly hurt but by the grace of God he did not suffer any injuries to his head, neck, spine or internal organs. Derek, who is a former emergency response instructor for the Red Cross, rushed to Dylan's aid to keep him calm and stabilize his leg until the paramedics arrived on the scene. I was notified immediately and got to the hospital the very same moment Dylan was being transferred out of the ambulance and into the ER. When I saw him turn his head to greet me I knew he would be OK. After I reassured him with a gentle kiss on the forehead, they whisked him off to triage and his first surgery. He will need at least 2 more surgeries to repair the damage to his leg which will include reconstruction and skin grafts. After that he will require many months of rehabilitation and will not be able to work for some time.
Dylan has a long road ahead and this fundraiser is to cover some of the projected costs to help him which potentially include:
~insurance deductible and uncovered costs beyond his insurance limits
~occupational and physical therapy to help him regain movement
~mental health services to process the shock and trauma he's suffered
~transportation to and from appointments while he is unable to drive
~home healthcare visits to assist him with daily tasks
~lost wages from time off work while he heals
~living expenses and meals for him and his fiancee
Dylan has an incredible network of support with loving friends and family by his side. He has had a steady stream of visitors keeping him company in the hospital. His pain is at a manageable level and he is in very good spirits considering the circumstance. I can't even begin to express my gratitude that my beloved son is still alive and well, that his injuries were not worse, that in time he will recover the full use of his leg and be able to do all the things he loves. Your contributions are greatly appreciated at this time.
