Our son Dylan is an avid cyclist.

He was severely injured 5 months ago while riding his bike in his neighborhood. He was hit by an uninsured and unlicensed motorist that ran a stop sign.

The impact caused Dylan to fly over his bike and land hard on the pavement sustaining severe injuries to his leg, knee, and dominant hand as well as abrasions and bruises all over his body, head, and face.

The doctors said the helmet saved his life but he was in the hospital for two weeks after the accident! He has had to go through five surgeries on his knee and hand!

The hand and wrist injuries were extensive requiring two different complicated surgeries with internal and external hardware that stuck out of his hand for a few months.

He just had his third extensive knee surgery because the first two failed. He must wear a full-leg cast for four months in addition to the time that he’s already been immobilized.

His medical bills are staggering! In addition, his beloved bike was broken.

The police came but the driver was able to leave while he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

He called an attorney who investigated and found that the driver did not have any money or assets and since Dylan did not have uninsured motorist coverage, the attorney would not take the case.

This has taken a huge physical and mental toll on both him and his wife.

He works remotely at home and it’s hard getting around the house in a wheelchair with their six rescue dogs . His wife works long hours in a restaurant and has to take care of him as well as the dogs. Money is tight and any little bit would help.
