My name is Niki, and I am reaching out on behalf of my grandson, Dylan, a hardworking, kind, and energetic 14-year-old.

On 17/11/2025, Dylan's world was turned upside down in a terrifying and traumatic incident. While riding around his neighbourhood with two friends, he was approached and robbed of his most prized possession: his electric bicycle.

This was not a simple theft. He was confronted by youths who held him at knife-point, forcing him to give up his bike. Thankfully, Dylan is physically unharmed, but the emotional distress and fear from this experience have been devastating. No child should ever have to face such a threat.

More Than Just a Bike

For Dylan, this electric bike was not a toy—it was his primary source of freedom, responsibility, and transportation. His mum suffers with Fibromyalgia, and he helps around the house, so he used this as a way to get out and about and act like a teenager.

Independence: It allowed him to responsibly visit friends and take pressure off our family's busy schedule. He has three siblings so you can imagine the need to get out.

Confidence: It was an item he worked hard to get, saving birthday money, performing extra jobs and going without money for eight months to help pay for it.

The stolen bike is an Eleglide Electric Bike, valued at approximately £600. Due to the nature of the crime, Dylan is now anxious and heartbroken. No child should have to go through such an event. Our only saving grace was that he had the sense not to argue and fight back to keep the bike. It would be a very different story.

The police were fantastic and were quickly on the scene and had multiple vehicles out looking for the youths quite quickly. There is CCTV footage from neighbouring shops, but as the youths were wearing balaclavas and dressed in black, the prospect of catching them and obtaining the bike is slim.

Our Goal: Restore His Independence and Hope

We are trying to raise £650 to purchase a replacement electric bike and a tracking device. We know this is a big ask just before Christmas.

A new electric bike (or parts of an equivalent model).

A premium security lock and tracking device for peace of mind.

Covering any associated GoFundMe fees.
