Hi, my name is Gabi Calderon, and I am the aunt of Dylan Calderon. We are a family from Honduras, and today we need your support for Dylan’s urgent medical operation.

Dylan is 10 years old and currently in the 5th grade. He is a well-behaved, dedicated student and a caring, supportive big brother to his two younger sisters. Despite his young age, Dylan has faced an overwhelming number of medical exams and procedures with incredible strength and courage.

He was born with esophageal congenital stenosis—a narrowing of the esophagus just above the stomach—which has made it nearly impossible for him to eat properly. He vomits frequently because food cannot pass easily into his stomach. Dylan has already undergone three surgeries, the last of which was a life-saving procedure after a complication at a public hospital.

Unfortunately, not long after that surgery, his esophagus began to close again, preventing him from digesting solid food. Dylan is severely underweight and survives on blended meals that do not provide the nutrition he needs to grow and match his energy levels. His quality of life is deeply affected.

He now struggles to swallow even blended foods and must rely on a jejunostomy—a feeding tube placed directly into his small intestine—for nutrition when his esophagus is fully closed. At times, he experiences severe pain at the stoma site, even though it is cleaned daily. We worry constantly about the risks of infection and other serious health complications.

Now, more than ever, Dylan needs an urgent surgical intervention in El Salvador, which costs $20,000. This amount will cover the procedure and his recovery, including hospitalization, medications, follow up appointments, meals, transportation. Unfortunately, we do not have the financial means to afford this surgery—but we have faith that with your help, Dylan can finally live a life where eating is no longer a struggle.

Ayudemos a un valiente guerrero de 10 años a volver a sonreír

Hola, mi nombre es Gabi Calderon, soy la tia de Dylan Calderon. Somos una familia Hondurena y hoy queremos pedir tu apoyo para un niño muy especial de tan solo 10 años que ha demostrado una fuerza increíble enfrentando una dura batalla médica.

Desde hace años Dylan ha luchado contra una condición en el esófago, posiblemente acalasia, que le ha impedido alimentarse normalmente. Ya ha pasado por tres cirugías para intentar corregir este problema. Sin embargo, recientemente su esófago se volvió a cerrar, y no puede ingerir alimentos sólidos, solo licuados, lo que afecta su crecimiento, su energía y su calidad de vida.

Hoy más que nunca necesita una nueva intervención quirúrgica urgente en El Salvador, que tiene un costo aproximado de 20,000 dólares, incluyendo cirugía, hospitalizacion, recuperación, medicamentos, alimentos, transporte . Lamentablemente, no contamos con los recursos necesarios para cubrir estos gastos, pero confiamos en que con tu ayuda podremos darle una nueva oportunidad de vivir con plenitud.
