Hi! My name is Dylan Windes. I’m a 15-year-old disc golfer from Placentia, California. I’m asking for help to get to the 2026 PDGA Junior Worlds in Pittsburgh, PA this July. Your donations will help cover the cost of travel, lodging, and food for me and a chaperone for the week. As well as pay for tournament fees for the year. We are working with other Southern California Juniors to help keep the costs as low as possible.
I started playing tournaments in late 2024 just for fun. At first I was nervous, but it didn’t take long to realize I could compete. I won MJ15 at Throwvember, then took 1st with my buddy Jacob Hulme at the La Mirada Turkey Shoot Doubles in MA3. That’s when it kind of clicked, I’m good at this. In 2025 I came in way more focused. I won back-to-back events in March at the Surf City Open in Huntington Beach and the La Mirada Amateur Championship. The rest of the year I kept building. I had a bunch of podium finishes and picked up big wins at the Soarin’ Disc Golf Open, the 2nd Annual Nixon Open, and then the West Coast Disc Golf Championships in MA2. Winning in higher divisions made me believe I could hang with older players, not just juniors.
I started this year with dominant wins at the La Mirada Amateur Open and the 48th Annual Wintertime Open at Oak Grove. Those felt different. I wasn’t trying to win, I expected to. I practice a lot, field work, form drills, putting reps and I’m always trying to get stronger mentally during rounds. My goal is to keep improving, keep winning, and play against the best juniors in the world. I’m only as good as the people I compete with. I want to be the best so I need to compete with the best.
