Support for Dylan Collie in His Fight Against Rare Cancer

Dylan Collie, a 35-year-old devoted husband to Lucie and a talented architect based in Southern California, is courageously battling a rare and aggressive form of abdominal cancer known as pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), a condition affecting only one in a million people.

Dylan has been fighting this illness with incredible strength since his diagnosis in 2022. His journey has included an 18-hour surgery at the Keck Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by months of chemotherapy. While the traditional treatments have not brought the hoped-for results, there are promising clinical trials and innovative therapies on the horizon that may offer him a better chance at recovery. Given the rarity of his condition, the specialized expertise required for treatment is primarily available in the U.S.

As a Canadian living and working in the U.S. for the past eight years, Dylan has relied entirely on private health insurance. Unfortunately, many of the treatments recommended by his doctors to maintain his immune health and prepare him for further therapies are not covered by insurance, placing a financial burden on Dylan, Lucie, and our family.

Unable to work for the past 18 months, Dylan has relied heavily on the support of our family and Lucie’s family to manage the financial demands of treatment, insurance premiums, and all other expenses. However, as the costs continue to rise, we’re all reaching a point where we can no longer manage alone. We are humbly reaching out to friends, family, and compassionate individuals who may be able to help Dylan continue his journey.

We aim to raise USD 230,000 to support essential medical and other expenses throughout this ongoing, difficult journey. We’ve done everything we can and tapped all our resources, but the costs of life and medical—despite good insurance—are more than we can collectively manage. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a real difference, bringing him closer to the life-saving treatments he urgently needs.
