Hi, my name is Dylan. Much like a lot of folks, my partner Andi and I have been struggling over the last year. We have been frequently homeless, though we have been fortunate enough to have friends and family who have given us temporary places to stay, and we have also both been unemployed.

Recently we both found work, which has been a blessing, and we thought we had found decent housing, but unfortunately this turned out to not be the case. The owners of the house, who also live on site, have been terrible to live with. They are constantly screaming at each other, throwing and breaking things in the house, and slamming doors, all well into the early morning. They frequently leave the floor so covered in trash and dirty clothes that there isn't space to walk to the back door to let our dog go to the bathroom. The fridge broke, and they left it broken for nearly a month, while still finding the money to go on vacation to Hawai'i.

The toxic environment here has been very taxing on Andi, who suffers from an anxiety disorder and has frequent panic attacks, as well as depression. Their abusive fighting with each other in particular has been very triggering, to the point where Andi was hospitalized this week. So long story short, it has become an unsafe place to live, and we need to find somewhere else ASAP.

We are unlikely to get our security deposit back since we are leaving before the lease is up, and without that, we can't afford a deposit for new place, or any of the various moving expenses. Additionally, with Andi missing work due to his mental health struggles, we will have a hard time paying the first month's rent when we move in.
