Hi, I'm amekyras, and I'm organising a fundraiser to help u/dykebyrd, the victim of an abusive relationship with the ex-moderator (Brynn), the source of significant drama over the past week or so on r/mtf. Below is a message from them:

my name’s tea (AKA dykebyrd). my partner and i are in our 30s, trans/queer, and disabled; i am particularly chronically ill. for the past 15 months after i finally left my infamous ex, i’ve had to deal with continued abuse and harassment, and live in constant fight-or-flight.

this past january, we lost my partner’s mother’s house — her mom (also trans/queer and struggling to find work post-transition) had to rush to sell her home and severely underprice it before foreclosure in february — and scrambled to stay off the streets.

we managed to move into a house with roommates on 1/22, but 3 weeks later found out my ex had already been informed of the address, which was an immediate threat to our physical safety.

2/20 we moved out and have been effectively homeless since. we’ve been in and out of hotels and crashing with various friends in the area; my partner hasn’t been able to work this whole time until just recently (essentially gig work). our funds are quickly dwindling, and we’re not sure how long the current place we’re crashing at will be safe for, as my ex and her friends/partners are still within 30+ minutes of us.

all we want to do is get as far from her as we reasonably can and be able to not live in fear anymore.
