For those who don’t know, there was a large mass discovered in my sisters pelvic area in April of 2022. She was rushed to the ER for further evaluation where she was then told it was “just a large fibroid” and to follow up with her Gyno. He ordered an MRI and that came back suspicious for late stage cervical cancer. She then went on to have 3 different biopsies which revealed no cervical or other cancers & basically nothing (which was great news!) besides atypical B cells so that’s what made doctors & pathologists believe this must be a type of non-hodgkins lymphoma. The last biopsy, when they went through her stomach to look at everything and take a biopsy of the actual mass, there was no more mass and she was told by the surgeon to simply follow up with her Gyno. This was great news, but she still felt something was still off. In December of last year, she started having trouble going to the bathroom again. This is how she discovered the mass back in April. She then had an MRI done that revealed the mass was definitely still there and just as big. It just so happens to be in a spot not visible from a laparoscopy procedure and is actually in the pelvic “bowl” area. She ended up getting a PET/CT scan that did show high metabolic activity in that area, but no other spots in her body. This could very well mean it is malignant, but nothing is 100% certain until she gets a successful biopsy. All of these failed biopsies, scans, & unknowns prompted her to seek out integrative care at Cancer Center For Healing in Irvine, alongside conventional medicine. She has followed what doctors have said for almost a year now and that has gotten her basically nowhere. She has healed her seizures with integrative medicine and believes she can heal from this with it as all! Her and her husband have already had to pay tens of thousands of dollars from past scans, doctors appts, and biopsies - even with insurance. Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover any integrative care and that has been all out of pocket adding financial stress to a very stressful time. They are currently waiting for biopsy #4 to happen to finally confirm cancer or not and what exactly type. (Which will also run at about 2k upfront and then other bills from the surgery) Whatever the outcome is, she will need more treatments and / or surgery to rid this thing from her body once and for all. If this is malignant, the low dose chemo therapy she wants to do runs at around 3-4K per week for 8 weeks to start. She wants to go this route in hopes to preserve her fertility and overall health. She will have to travel to Irvine, CA weekly to receive this. I’m starting this go fund me to help get Dyana the treatments she deserves!
