Help Dwight Gardner with Medical Expenses

My name is Krista Fanning and I am the granddaughter of Dwight and Patsy Gardner. My grandfather has been suffering with pain since July. Doctors thought it was due to an extensive ear infection and cyst that had formed. He had a cholesteatoma surgery, removing 3 bones from his ear and rebuilding his eardrum on September 6th, thinking that was the issue. After surgery the pain persisted. Up until November, although he was in pain, he was an otherwise healthy and independent man. Since November, new symptoms have appeared, rendering him completely dependent on his family for all of his needs. He now has facial paralysis on his left side. This has effected his tongue, throat, vocal cords, and eye, causing him to be unable to eat. After losing 30 lbs in less than a month, doctors placed a feeding tube to give him nutrition. With the feeding tube he has lost an additional 10 lbs. He is now on oxygen full time, and currently recovering from bilateral pneumonia. We have no answers as to why any of this is happening and no treatment plan to stop the progression of symptoms. We have been to 5 hospitals and seen multiple specialist. Our next step is to take him to the Mayo Clinic. We are working through the process to get him there, but this trip will be costly. On top of the trip, we have had some issues with his insurance not paying for some meds. We just paid $1100 for his iv antibiotics to treat the pneumonia. My grandparents have given so much to so many. If you find it in your heart, please help them. We desperately need answers to get him back healthy. If you can’t give, please pray for answers.
