Help Me Become a School Therapy Dog!

Hi there, friends! My name is Dutton and I have a BIG dream… I want to become a certified school therapy dog!

I know, I know—most dogs dream about endless treats or chasing squirrels. But not me. I’ve always felt I was meant for more. My human has told me how hard school can be for kids—anxiety, stress, sadness—and I just want to help. I want to be the wagging tail that makes their day better, the soft ears to scratch when they're feeling overwhelmed, and the calm presence that reminds them they're not alone. Since my pals Stormy and Thunder went into retirement, I figured now is my time to shine!

Here’s the deal: to become an official therapy dog, I need some special training (no, not sit-stay-rollover stuff—I’ve got that covered). I’m talking about professional certification through a recognized therapy dog program. This training will teach me how to work safely and gently in classrooms, hallways, and counseling offices. I’ll learn to stay calm in noisy places, comfort kids with anxiety or trauma, and be the best dog I can be for my school community.

My training, gear, registration, and certification will cost around $1,500.00. (My paws are good for high-fives, not budgeting, so my human filled in the exact number.)
