Dusty is a 10-year-old Yellow Labrador who has been part of our family since the day he was born. For my parents Kathy and Terry Ray, he is far more than a dog — he is their constant companion, their comfort, and their quiet source of strength. Gentle and loving by nature, Dusty is always glued to their side, whether that means curling up next to them at the end of a long day or waiting patiently for them to walk through the door. Through life’s ups and downs, Dusty has been there, offering unconditional love when it was needed most.
Earlier today, everything changed. While we were making dinner, we realized Dusty was not responding when called. When we went outside, we found him standing alone in the snow, crying in pain. His abdomen had suddenly swollen and become very firm — a terrifying sight for any pet owner. After quickly researching his symptoms, we learned Dusty may be suffering from bloat (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus), a serious and life-threatening condition that requires emergency surgery.
Dusty now needs urgent surgery to save his life and prevent his stomach from twisting and cutting off blood flow to his vital organs. This procedure, along with the necessary recovery care, comes at a significant cost, and we are doing everything we can to help him get the care he needs. If you’re able to help, please know that every donation — no matter the amount — will go directly toward Dusty’s surgery and recovery. Even sharing this fundraiser means more than we can express. Dusty has spent his entire life giving my parents love, comfort, and companionship. Now, we’re asking for help so we can give him the chance to heal and continue doing what he does best: staying right by her side. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult times.
The doctor said the procedure would range between $3,000-4,000
