My name is Dusty, and for most of my life, I’ve worked in construction. Over the years, the physical demands of the job have taken a toll on my body. My right hip is now bone on bone, and I have a separated right shoulder, making it extremely difficult to walk, stand, or lift for long periods. My injuries became so severe that I was encouraged to file for disability, and I even started a claim. But deep down, I know I want to keep working and traveling, not give up on my independence.
That’s why I’ve decided to pursue a new path and attend CDL driving school. Becoming a truck driver will allow me to earn a good living, have access to excellent benefits, and finally get the medical insurance I need for a hip replacement at the end of this year. The funds I’m raising will help cover my living expenses while I’m in school, and if possible, help me purchase an affordable used car so I can get to and from classes and make a little extra money driving DoorDash on evenings and weekends.
Two years ago, I lost my wife after a long illness. For seven years, I was her caregiver, and her passing left me feeling lost and unsure of my future. After a year of therapy, I finally feel like I’m waking up and ready to live again. I truly need some support to get back to where I once was, and I would be deeply grateful for any help you can offer. Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation to help me start this new chapter.
