For anyone who doesn't know my son was in an accident, here's a little back story on him. My son is Dustin Abney, he is currently 24 and he has been serving In the Airforce for 5 years now, and loves it. He smiles everyday getting to work with his military brothers and sisters. But recently he had an accident that will keep him from doing that. His 14 year old cousin was riding a four wheeler up a steep hill and it started to roll, she then slid down the hill and the four wheeler started rolling down the hill right towards her. Knowing that it was gonna land on top of her he jumped in front of it and tried to catch it so that it wouldn't hit her. He caught it with his hands and the force shoved it into into his face. It slowed the four wheeler down enough so that his little cousin could get out of the way unharmed, him not so much. As you can see from the pictures it is pretty bad, he severed his top lip in three places, nearly cutting it all the way off, his top gums all had to be stitched as they had pulled away from his teeth. On the bottom side he cut the inside of his lip, and broke out 6 teeth, he severed the nerve in the front of his face, he also fractured his jaw and broke all of the bone underneath where his teeth go, and it all had to be removed so he will have to have structural surgery to see if they can get fake teeth implanted, he cut his tongue almost in half and it had to be stitched as well. Over all he had about 300 stitches, he has a small fracture in his back at his spine limiting him to nothing over 10 pounds. With all this he still insists on trying to smile, bless his heart. But he will be out of work for quite awhile and there is a lot that he won't be able to do. He has health insurance but there are things it's not gonna cover and he will be off work for the unforeseeable future until the doctor clears him. He is not one who will ask for help he will act tough and try to get through it on his own. But the truth is, he will need all the help he can get. So I am asking on his behalf. Thank you all so much for your time, God bless each and every one of you for anything you do even if it's just to send him a smile to encourage him.
