My name is Dana, and my family and I are reaching out on behalf of my brother and sister-in-law, Dusty and Susan Costa. If you didn’t know, Dusty, is a resilient individual living life with Cerebral Palsy. They purchased a home many years ago but recently decided to make a more handicap accessible living space by hiring a contractor for essential home remodeling. Unfortunately, this decision turned into a nightmare.
Instead of delivering on promises, Eaton Home Improvements, out of Darlington PA, did not follow the agreed upon layout of the remodel, installed used materials from other jobs and left the job unfinished. What’s worse, the work that was done was unsafe and far from accessible. They were left with exposed wiring and mismatched breakers added to their electrical panel, uneven flooring with unexpected steps, and—most recently—dangerous mold growth behind the wall caused by a pipe that was supposed to be capped but was instead left slowly leaking behind newly installed drywall. The leak has saturated both the wall and the floor, making their home even more hazardous than before the renovation began.
This experience has been not only financially devastating, but emotionally overwhelming. Living with a disability already presents daily challenges, a secure and accessible home shouldn't be one of them.
They’ve begun seeking legal help, but the road to justice is long and uncertain — all while they continue living in unsafe, unfit conditions. No one deserves to be treated this way, which is why we’re asking for your support to help restore some sense of stability and normalcy to their life.
Every dollar helps. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Let’s come together and give Dusty and Susan the safe, functional, and dignified home they deserve.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness!
