Help With Dustin's Vet Bills After Bobcat Attack

     On Thursday, July 8th at around 6pm-ish near East Highway 92 and Grade Road our 6 year old German Shepherd mix "Dustin" was attacked by a Bobcat. It got the better of him and if not for our other dogs helping to scare it off he wouldn't have survived.

    He stayed over night at Pilchuck Vet in Snohomish. He was covered with deep bite marks and scratches. He lost a canine tooth and may loose his leg if it doesn't heal from damage to the vein and massive bruising. A Bobcat's bite is over 700+ psi whereas a Pitbull's bite is a little over 200+ psi.

    He was in the greenbelt part of our yard where the rabbits have dug many holes. The high heat has brought many animals out of the woods from extensive logging and destruction of the forested land around us, causing them to flee to new areas.

    He has 3 tubes for drainage, a tube with a bulb that sucks out fluid and numerous deep bite marks and scratches everywhere. The doctor bill was $3,600 up front, another $230 more when I picked him up and an additional $300+ for meds. There will be more follow up appointments needed and if he needs an amputation I don't know how much it'll cost. He is on 2 kinds of antibiotics, codeine and an anti-inflammatory as well.

    He is doing very well, recovery will take about 6 to 8 weeks according to the doctor. I'm asking for help as this is my daughter's dog and she has no job and has a 1 year old baby to care for and I only deliver pizza. I have all the bill covered on a credit card at 20% interest but we would be very greatful for any help from the community, thank you in advance.
