Help Dustin's fight with Kidney Cancer
Donation protected
My Brother Dustin was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Kidney Cancer, and support is needed as he fights for his life.
Dustin and his wife, Catrina, currently live in Indio, California. They have two children; Daniel (19), who is currently serving in the US Army and Sirenity (16), who is in her junior year of High School. Dustin has always been full of life and enjoys spending as much time as possible surrounded by family and friends. Dustin is loving, caring, goofy, creative and passionate. These last couple of months have been challenging to watch as many of these things that have always personified Dustin has been suppressed by his debilitating pain.
Dustin had been experiencing back pain off and on for about two years. Each time he went in to get it checked out, he was told to rest and focus on losing some weight. The pain continued to worsen, and in December 2021, the pain became debilitating, and Dustin became unable to work or do much of anything on his own. After months of being bounced from Doctor to Doctor and fighting with insurance providers, a CT scan revealed a significant growth around Dustin’s kidney. A biopsy has confirmed that Dustin is battling stage 4 Kidney Cancer. Recent imaging shows that the tumor is now the size of a soccer ball, encasing and suffocating the vein leading to his heart. Because of this, the tumor is inoperable as it is.
Dustin now begins the tough road ahead of aggressive Systemic Therapy and pain management to shrink the tumor so that it can be removed. While the outlook is not great, Dustin is a fighter, and he has a great support system of loved ones as he fights like hell to beat this.
The battle ahead comes appointments, scans, blood work, hospital visits, travel, more appointments, and extreme financial burden. Dustin has been unable to work since December. Catrina is often limited in her ability to work her full hours because of the numerous appointments, time spent dealing with the insurance companies and specialists, and the care required by Dustin. The medical bills and expenses have continued to accumulate through all of this.
I hope we can raise enough money for Dustin and his family to relieve as much of the financial burden as possible. All proceeds will go directly to Dustin and his family to help alleviate the financial burden of medical expenses. All of Dustin’s loved ones stand with him in support as he fights this. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity, support, encouragement, and prayers as every bit helps.
