Hi everyone,

My name is Chloe, and I’m Dustin’s older sister. I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of our family to help support our parents through this incredibly difficult time.

On Sunday, Dustin had a fall at the skatepark and suffered what was first thought to be a concussion. He spent the night in Emerald Hospital and was discharged the next morning as he seemed to have very few symptoms and looked to be doing okay.

After coming home, we all thought he was on the mend. He had a sleep and everything seemed fine, until we couldn’t wake him. An ambulance was called and Dustin was rushed back to Emerald Hospital, where doctors found he had a massive bleed on the brain.

From there, everything happened so quickly. Dustin deteriorated and was placed into a coma before being airlifted to Brisbane for emergency brain surgery.

He has spent time in ICU and has now been moved to the ward to begin his recovery. While signs are looking positive, Dustin still has a long journey ahead. He is currently experiencing PTA, post-traumatic amnesia, and we are hoping this improves over the coming weeks.

I’m creating this fundraiser to help take some pressure off our parents while they support Dustin through his recovery. Any funds raised will go towards travel, accommodation, food, time away from work, and any other costs that come with being away from home and by Dustin’s side.
