Hi, my name is Keith Mangold and I’m starting this fundraiser for my good friend, of over 20yrs, Dustin Harper.

About 2 years ago, Dustin was diagnosed with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) The causes of this disease are mostly unknown. What is known, is that Dustin was never a drinker. Nor did he have any habits that would lead to this disease.

Dustin’s health deteriorated further and his NAFLD progressed to Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), an aggressive form of fatty liver disease, which quickly progressed to advanced scarring (cirrhosis) and liver failure.

A liver transplant was Dustin’s only hope. Thankfully, Dustin received a viable liver and had his transplant on November 26, 2022. He is still in the hospital recovering but all is going well so far.

Dustin will be getting discharged any day now and has a VERY long road of recovery ahead of him. It will be at least 3 months before he can GRADUALLY get back to doing what he loves- cooking great food! He will only be able to work a few hours a week once that time arrives. It can take up to a full year before Dustin is able to work full time again and be back to his usual self.

Dustin lives alone and off of a single income. Without it, during this time of recovery, he is in dire need of help financially! Medical bills, rent, car payments, gas to go to follow up appointments, food etc.

He is the kind of guy that will do anything for his friends. He deserves to be able to focus on his long recovery without being stressed out, worrying about how he will pay his bills.
