Help Dustin Represent Canada at the World Taekwondo Stage!

Hi everyone,

My name is Dustin Chiang. I’m 13 years old and I’ve been practicing taekwondo since I was 5. Over the past 8 years, taekwondo has become one of the most important parts of my life. It’s helped me become more focused, confident, and determined.

This year, something amazing happened — I was selected to represent Team Canada at the 2025 ITF World Taekwondo Championships, which will be held in Poreč, Croatia, from October 7–11. This will be my first time competing at an international level, and it still feels like a dream come true. I’ve trained hard for this moment and can’t wait to represent Canada on the world stage.

I’ve competed in many tournaments in Canada, but this one is on a whole different level. I’ll be meeting athletes from around the globe and pushing myself to be the best I can be — not just for medals, but for the experience, the learning, and the pride of representing my country.

Traveling to Croatia isn’t cheap — there are costs for flights, hotels, uniforms, meals, registration fees, and more. I told my parents I didn’t want this to be a burden on them, so we’re asking for a little help from our community to raise the amount to make this trip possible.

When I’m not training, one of my favorite hobbies is photography. I plan to bring my camera with me and capture the experience, from behind-the-scenes moments to action shots and memories with my teammates. I’ll be sharing these photos with everyone who supports me — so you can be part of the journey too!
