Help Dustin Overcome His Health Battle

If you know me, you know that I am a very private person and do not really show my family or any life details on my social media! This nightmare has taken away all my pride and dignity of keeping this to myself any longer.

Many of you have reached out due to the family emergency status that I have going on. I believe it's time that I ask for that help, support, love and PRAYERS!

If you know Dustin, you know him to be an upbeat, smart and funny guy! He is a loving husband and father. He is the love of my life and we have built a great life together.

A nightmare began on March 24 with admission to ER with a small bowel blockage.
He had Surgery on March 26 to fix the blockage. He was Sent home March 30.

However, Dustin was having pain and vomiting and was Re-Admitted on April 2 - that surgery failed.

Dustin underwent another Surgery on April 6 where they took out 45 cm of small bowel.
The surgeon decided to leave him open overnight on a ventilator to go back next morning to be sure it worked and nothing more needed to be done.

On April 7, around 3am, Dustin became septic and borderline renal failure. - they took out 30cm more bowel and connected him back. Stapled him and did a "bellywash" of the septic. He was borderline decomposing - per his chart. I tried to read them daily.

We had an extensive stay in ICU...then sent to the surgical floor of the hospital until discharge on April 18. That was a nightmare....he obviously was very weak and had lost 30lbs since this all started.

Dustin was very weak and Discharged April 18th.
Went to the Dr. on April 22 for a check of incision. This visit - we were told there was an anastomotic leak in the bowels.
Admitted again to the hospital.

On April 23, Gastroengrology came in and said they could try to do a "Bear Claw" closure from a colonoscopy. However, Dr. has never done it that way before using this method on where his leak was.
That was successful.
However, the drainage from his incision didn't completely stop - they did a CT scan.... That showed a 3cm fistula.....in the small bowel. Which is a new bowel leak.
We were told this should heal on it's own....4 weeks or so.
Discharged May 2 with IV nutrition and a drainage on his belly.
On May 28, Dustin was having severe belly pain and vomiting.
He was admitted to the hospital again. CT shows he has a 5cm Small bowel blockage.
He feels back to square one again.
This has truly taken a toll on his life as well as his family. As he cannot work and I am not working full time as much to be with him and take care of him during all the surgeries. Dustin's medical bills have exceeded $500,000 and continue to climb. While we do have health insurance, the deductibles, home health care and regular household bills are continue to grow as well.

I am not one to ask for help as you all know that, but at this point, I am at a loss as we don't know what the future holds for Dustin. We could be facing another surgery.

We appreciate your love and support of us and we welcome all PRAYERS as they are definitely needed right now.

Love you all so big!
