Help Dustin Overcome Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

Dustin Honeycutt was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) on April 11, 2025. AML is a cancer that attacks the blood and bone marrow. The word “acute” in myelogenous leukemia signifies the disease is aggressive and gets worse at a very rapid rate. The myeloid cells are immature blood cells produced in the bone marrow, the “spongy part of your bone,” and then mature into red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), and platelets. With AML, there’s a disruption in the DNA of the myeloid cells, causing an overproduction of immature blood cells that develop at a rapid rate, severely inhibiting the blood cells' ability to mature. Mature blood cells are vital to life because they help supply oxygen to the body, stop excessive bleeding, and fight off infections.

Dustin, 39, was born and raised in Indiana and started his career working for Goodyear in 2011 as a general maintenance technician. He worked his way up and became a store manager here in Indiana before receiving an opportunity to relocate as the store manager in Morgantown, WV. With his hard work, knowledge, and dedication, Dustin was on the fast track to receive another promotion to become a district manager with Goodyear.

Dustin is married to his wife Christyann, and they have 2 dogs, Seamus, an Airedale Terrier, and Sophia, a Mini Bernedoodle, which they consider their children. Dustin and Christyann were living in West Virginia when they received the news about his AML. The doctors advised them that moving back to Indiana would be in their best interest because they were going to need all the support from family and friends since his cancer was aggressive. With the unexpected diagnosis of Dustin’s cancer, he had to leave his job and his home in West Virginia with very little notice, which has left him and his wife in a financial burden.

Dustin was admitted to the Simon Cancer Center located in Indianapolis, IN, on April 17, 2025, and has received 5 rounds of chemo treatment drugs, 2 skin biopsies, a bone marrow biopsy, several CT scans, ultrasounds, multiple blood and platelet transfusions, and numerous blood draws. Dustin’s battle with AML is just now beginning, and there is a long recovery ahead of him, but he is STRONG and ready to FIGHT! Any funds donated to Dustin will help him and his wife pay off medical bills, hospital stays, medication costs, medical equipment costs, physical and respiratory therapy, outpatient medical follow-ups, moving expenses, food and living expenses, and environmental expenses. Dustin is very much looking forward to returning to his store in West Virginia as soon as possible. He wants to express his love for his Goodyear family! We were unable to maintain the cost of our townhouse in WV while he is doing treatment in Indianapolis. Where we needed to be close to family and friends.

We thank you in advance for all the support and donations!
