Help Dustin Humphrey's Journey
Donation protected
Update on Dustin: He will be doing 4 more cycles of chemo, lasting 5 days for each cycle. He will be in the hospital for those 5 days, then home for 4 weeks until the next cycle.
His leukemia has the NPM1 mutation and the doctors believe the chemo should wipe it out. This is good news.
Dustin still has a long road to recovery and during this time he will not be able to work. Drea is looking for a job to supplement their income. She is working hard to ensure their children maintain a normal day to day life while caring for Dustin when he is home. She also travels to the hospital (2 hrs away) while he in receiving his chemo.
Thank you to all who have donated to this fund! If you can donate, we truly appreciate it. Please share this as every little bit adds up and helps take some stress off their shoulders.
Quick update: A Caringbridge has been setup so Dustin can share his progress as he fights this leukemia.

Hello all,
My name is Julia Boyd. My husband John and I would like to tell you a little about a hardworking, dedicated, loving father and husband, Dustin Humphrey. Please take a moment to read his story and contribute if you are able.
Dustin and his wife, our daughter Andrea, have four children ranging in age from five to thirteen. Dustin is the sole breadwinner for the family while Andrea is a stay-at-home mom raising their children. The family lives paycheck to paycheck, as many do these days. With costs rising, money is even tighter.
For weeks now Dustin has not felt well and has progressively been feeling worse. Being the dedicated, responsible family man that he is, he shrugged off his not feeling well and continued working. This past week he reached the point where he could no longer shrug off the illness, deciding a trip to the ER was warranted. After some blood work it was determined that he has AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Today he started chemo and he will likely be in the hospital for at least four weeks.
Dustin has a long road ahead of him to fight this cancer. Andrea will be traveling between their home and the hospital (about a 2 hour drive) to care for their children and to support Dustin on his journey to eradicate this cancer and return to good health.
At this point Dustin is unable to work, leaving Andrea with the responsibility of caring for the children and finding employment to continue to pay their bills. This will put a lot of stress on the family as they currently do not have any funds coming in.
If you can, please contribute to help support this family while Dustin is fighting this battle.
Thank you and God Bless!
Julia and John
