Help Dustin Fight B-Cell Lymphoma
Donation protected
Dustin was recently diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma Cancer after 4 months of health issues and not knowing what was wrong. He is considered stage 4 as it has spread to his bone marrow. Anyone that knows Dustin knows he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He’s the one first to help when asked without batting an eye. Dustin is a hard worker and never one to say no. Now it’s our turn to help him.
Dustin started losing weight pretty rapidly back in August/September. He has lost 80lbs very quickly and unintentionally, after feeling off for a few weeks he went in to St Rita’s ER, there they ran a few tests/scans and found out he had low blood counts and an enlarged liver and enlarged spleen. An oncologist recommended he get transferred to OSU Hospital right away. Dustin Spent 15 days At OSU, mustiple tests ran, blood draws, a bone marrow biopsy, all for them to tell him he was cleared from leukemia and lymphoma he had Sarcoidosis and sent him home and wanted him to schedule a follow up and continue being on a steroid. He came home on October 13th, unable to work with his spleen being enlarged still. He was not able to get into OSU for follow up appointments so he began seeing a rheumatologist at St Rita’s, who wanted to do a PET scan because of his spleen and liver. Dustin also saw an Oncologist in Lima as recommended by his primary care doctor. After his PET scan, and appointment with oncologist they wanted to do a liver biopsy ( something that OSU said they were doing to do, but never did ) this was scheduled for December 18th.
With Dustin being off work since September 28th, he had to return back to work on restricted light duty in order to keep his benefits. He was able to work for 1 week before he unfortunately went back to St Rita’s ER on December 16th because he was not feeling well again. While there he received 4 blood transfusion before he got his liver biopsy, on December 19th Dustin got the news that unfortunately he has Lymphoma Cancer. St Rita’s transferred him to Cleveland Clinic where he’s been since December 20th and unfortunately missed Christmas with his family, and his 2 year old son Cameron.
Since being at Cleveland Clinic they wanted to run more tests which included another bone marrow biopsy, another liver biopsy, lots of blood draws, scans, an echo, just to name a few.
He is about to start chemotherapy and hopefully kick cancers ass!
With trying to navigate this new “normal” and treatment, I would like to help the man that never asks for help from anyone. Help with any of the medical bills that start coming in, gas to get to/from Cleveland, rent to keep a home for Dustin and Cameron, and anything else he might need. Even if you can’t donate please share so we can get his story out there.
