Hi, my name is Misty. I am doing this to raise money for my son, Dustin, to get a lawyer to fight in court for him. He was falsely arrested today for supposedly resisting arrest because he was running in the park and didn’t stop when the police told him to right away. He asked why they tackled him. They said they got a call he was opening car doors on the street. When he asked where, it was his and his sister's car. When I showed up and explained that, the officer said he was resisting arrest. I asked how, and they said he wouldn’t stop when they told him to. The lady who called this in said he wasn’t resisting, he didn’t do anything, and because you guys couldn’t get him for opening cars, you’re charging him with this. Six cops later, they said they were charging him with a misdemeanor, but he sat in jail for over 12 hours with no phone call or attorney. This is obviously a false arrest. I have five witnesses who can testify he did nothing, but because the cops made a big deal of showing up looking for a carjacker but didn’t find one, they arrested him on some bogus charges. I need help raising $1,000 to retain a lawyer to get this case thrown out so we can get a lawyer who will sue for false arrest. Cops abuse their power way too much. Please help as much as you can.
