Duryan Bhagat-Clark, beloved wife and loving mother passed away on January 2nd, after a brave battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Russel Clark, and daughter Nansi. 

Duryan was an amazing daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend. She understood the importance of relationships and she nurtured them every day. Never halfway about anything, she loved with all her heart.  Her energy and vitality were unstoppable. She was also a model of independence and self-reliance.  She could do anything she set her mind to. Incredibly intelligent, meticulous, and hard-working, she was equally generous with her time, advice, and her knowledge. As a strong woman, she inspired many others to develop their own resourcefulness and integrity.

Duryan worked at Scholastic for over 15 years and instilled her love of books and learning in her beautiful daughter, Nansi.  She was so proud of her! Every milestone in Nansi’s life was lovingly shared with her Scholastic family. Now it’s time to support Nansi in what Duryan wanted most for her – go to college where she can develop her gifts and talents to share with the world. We can help Duryan’s dream come true, just as she generously helped so many of us over the years.
