As many of you know, on July 21, our beloved Dawn DeMuth Faia suffered a heart attack at her home. It cannot be determined how much time had passed, before her fiancé’ returned home from work, immediately starting CPR until relieved by the paramedics. Dawn was brought to East Jefferson Hospital and put on life support. After numerous tests, CT scans and specialists, it was determined that she had gone too long without oxygen and the damage to her brain was irreversible. The family was faced with the impossible decision to let her go. On Tuesday, July 25, Dawn’s 52nd birthday, the agonizing decision was made and she was taken off life support. Being the fighter that she is, Dawn remains with us today. The hospital transferred her to a hospice facility on Wednesday where she will spend her remaining days.

I have known Dawn for over 20 years. She has spent her life taking care of everyone. Always putting everyone else’s needs before her own and never expecting anything in return. She loves with her whole heart, without bias or prejudice.

Several family and friends have asked how they can help, which is why we decided to start a GofundMe. We all know how expensive medical care and long-term care is. If we can help offset some of this financial burden for her, I know the family will be eternally grateful. Any amount is appreciated.
