Help during Ava’s corrective spinal surgery
Hi, I’m Chad Bell. My wife has a beautiful daughter (my step daughter), our daughter Ava has been through a tough year. She was born with some big medical problems and has had 29 surgeries in her 11 years of life. Most working to help correct her spine. This past October she had a surgery to remove a rod from her back that caused a spinal cord injury. She lost feeling and function below her chest and is now paraplegic. It has been heart breaking!
Recently we met with a doctor that says he can help but needs to act fast to provide some life altering surgeries. To do this we are going to have to go to New York for 2 months for a major reconstruction of her spine. We are hoping to get additional resources to help cover the costs of the trip so our family can be together during this difficult time.
We live in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. The funds we collect for my step daughter will be used to pay for the costs of travel to and from New York, the cost of food, lodging, parking, and medical necessities. This will allow myself or Lindsay to be with Ava everyday and also our daughter Sylvie, so both our children have access to their parents daily and Ava has the support she needs during such a difficult time.
All funds will be transferred to Lindsay’s bank account and used for costs of the trip for surgery and associated medical costs.
Thank you for anything you can do to help!
