Dupree Vest is an ever-active presence in Nelson County Public Schools. From helping lead the Marching Governors to substituting for classes all over the high school, his impact on the youth of this community is far-reaching. On top of his extensive work with the schools, Dupree also works at our local Dollar General and supports his family.

On January 17th, 2025, Dupree suffered a sudden and unexpected stroke, accompanied by 3 seizures that led to an additional 3 blood clots and the ultimate discovery of a hole in his heart. He spent a week in the ICU before eventually going home to recover. At this time, we are asking that the community help cover living expenses and lost wages for his family that were accrued during his hospitalization and recovery.
