Hello, my name is Dunel Petit-Frere. I fall under the category of a TPS (Temporary Protected Status) holder under the Haiti designation. As you may have seen on news media, the Trump administration is terminating this status for myself and thousands of other Haitians who have lived here and made this our home for the majority of our lives. Some of us, like myself, do not know what to do, and we have no one else that can really help us legally to remain here in the US. Like many others, I am terrified of how my life is going to become.
Due to all of this, starting after July 27, 2026, I will lose the legal authorization to work in the US. I’m reaching out to seek donations in the days and months after July 27, 2026, to help sustain myself with food and some sort of shelter since I will not be able to work at all. I will have no guaranteed valid identification to even help me. I was living in my vehicle for about a year, and then due to the unstableness of the immigration side of government had caused me to make a decisional sacrifice to attempt to save funds for myself once I lose status or keep making monthly payments to my vehicle. I chose to attempt to save for myself in which I ended up having my vehicle repoed and impounded.
It would mean a lot to get this help. I want this chaos to end so that I may be at peace and build the life I’ve been trying to reach for!!
