Hola Mi Gente Bella! Hello, my Beautiful People!
I come from a tiny village, Acapa-Hidalgo, and left on my Potato (Dad) 's shoulders when I was 1 ½. The road to a new life took a lot of sacrifices from my parents to leave every loved one and start from zero. My parents had bigger dreams for me and started a new life in New Jersey with no relatives.
My parents have no immediate family here- all my family is in Mexico except one uncle. I never had to meet my grandparents on my dad's side- they died before I was 12. My parents adopted close friends as a family to lean on and support in times of need from different parts of Mexico. I, too, started adopting- in the absence of all the family's village left behind. I have 2 Puerto Rican Grandparents- my nanny and her late husband, 1 Korean grandpa, 1 Italian Father (who passed four years ago) and 1 adopted Mexican grandpa- thank you to the Chavez fam for sharing. Thank you to all of you- especially my Puerto Rican family- for loving me like your own. I have been blessed to meet and adopt close friends from around the world as my village of support.
As a DACAmented child, the dreams and goals my Parents have planted in me are starting to bloom, but so is a burning desire to know my homeland. To hug my aunts, whose voice is sweet and nurturing. Every time we talk - for the last 15 years that I remember, “Cuando me vas a venir a ver?” / When are you going to come? And every time, I would tell her “Un dia de Estos” /One of these days. As well as a burning desire to meet my big Mama in her Temple- Virgin of Guadalupe.
This opportunity and dream would not have been possible without the organizers of the Dream Act back in 2010. To them- especially those who got deported for my generation to bloom in excellence - is what drives me to give back to others to have a life of dignity and honor in the fight for liberation.
If all goes well- I will have the opportunity to meet my family and safely come back with a group of DACA recipients who will be given the same opportunity.
I am now in need of help financially to make this dream possible. I am eternally grateful for any donations you decide to help with to be able to embrace my family. From my heart and my extended family, any gift is incredible. We hope that in your time- we can be equally as helpful! Thank you in advance for your love and generosity.
The Funds will help cover the 4,500 Fee, including airfare, legal aid and preparing for leaving and coming back in, and therapy to prepare to go and return. As well as the USCIS $575 Advance Parole Fee. If there are any questions, feel free to send me a message!
