Duke's new vet has determined that he's healthy and can remove the large 10lb cyst from his belly. For those of you who haven't met Duke, he's the sweetest dog you can find, and if you've had the pleasure of meeting him, you know what I'm talking about. He came to Elk County Humane Society from South Carolina and became an instant favorite of the staff. After 6 months of not getting adopted due to the cantaloupe-sized cyst, he chose me to take him home. The cyst was determined to be benign and continues to stay that way, which led me to finding a vet that will take on this kind of surgery. The total cost of his surgery is $2,100.

Once removed, Duke will finally be able to run around without a large ball of fat swinging side to side and weighing down his hips. This will give Duke the best life possible moving forward, and having the cyst removed would be the best Christmas gift he could ever receive
