Not too long ago, Duke, our rescue puppy from the local humane society, was a happy, healthy puppy. He was racing around with his buddies and playing with his Dad. Unfortunately, he has suffered a tear in his ACL while playing at the beach and now cannot run without pain and can barely use that leg. He's not quite two years old and this injury was entirely unexpected. The vet has recommended Duke for surgery as soon as possible but it costs $5,000, a huge stretch financially for my dad.
