Help Duke Heal: Support Lydia's Service Dog
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Lydia. Asking other people for help is challenging me- so please bear with me.
On Sunday October 20, my husband and my Service Dog Duke were mauled by our neighbors vicious dog.
This dog has been aggressive in nature for a while and after multiple reports, animal control has done minimal things to do anything about the dog.
My husband is safe and healing.
Our greatest hurdle right now is my service dog, Duke. Duke is unable to stand on his own at this time and is operating on only 1 fully working leg. He received emergency care yesterday from our vet and we are operating on hope at this point.
We are working on mending his front paw that was shredded by the dog, and we have a prognosis on his rear leg injury.
Duke has already received care at approximately $1k and will need a $4k surgery on his rear leg injury.
The neighbor who owns the vicious dog is doing nothing - and we are doing the best we can to manage everything financially as we go.
Any help at this point is greatly appreciated. This dog is my lifeline and with him, I have been able to overcome hurdles I never thought possible. We have no idea if he will ever be able to continue his service work, as his injuries are quite extensive. His continued work will depend on his recovery.
