Hi everyone,

I want to introduce you to our sweet boy, Duke.

Duke is 12 years old a tiny little guy with the biggest personality. He truly believes he’s a big dog. He loves cuddles more than anything and is always right by your side, especially when you sit down (because to him, that means it’s time to snuggle). He follows his sister everywhere and spends his days by the window, proudly “protecting” the house with his little but mighty bark.

A few days ago, our world turned upside down. Duke suffered a serious injury to his eye. After rushing him to the vet, we were told it was a severe laceration. Sadly, his eye has collapsed and will need to be removed to prevent him from living in pain and to avoid further complications.

As if that wasn’t enough, during his exam the vet also discovered that Duke has an enlarged heart. Because of this, they need to first stabilize and treat his heart condition before they can safely perform surgery. Anesthesia is risky right now, and we want to do everything possible to give him the best chance.

This all happened so suddenly, and we were not prepared for the medical costs that come with both his heart treatment and eye surgery. Duke means everything to us, and we just want him to be comfortable, safe, and continue living the happy, loving life he deserves.
