Hi everyone, our family is reaching out with heavy hearts and a lot of worry.
Late Friday night, we noticed a sudden, large, and bleeding mass on our dog Duke’s leg. It seemingly appeared out of nowhere. We rushed him to the emergency vet in Traverse City, where they stabilized him but told us the mass needs to be surgically removed as soon as possible.
Duke is so much more than "just a dog" to us. He is a huge part of our household. Whether it’s keeping up with the chaos of kids or being the loyal companion at the end of a long workday, Duke is the heart of our home. He has a gentle soul and so much life left in him, and seeing him in pain like this is heartbreaking for all of us.
Bay area emergency vet quoted us $3,000 for the surgery. We are currently waiting to hear back from our regular veterinarian on Monday to see if they can perform the procedure at a more manageable cost, but even then, this is an unexpected expense that we simply cannot cover alone right now.
How you can help:
We are asking for donations to go directly toward Duke’s surgery, pathology (to make sure it isn’t cancer), and his post-op recovery medications.
Any amount helps: Even $5 or $10 brings us closer to getting Duke the help he needs.
Share our story: If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this link with your friends and family.
We just want our happy, healthy Duke back and sitting on the floor with us again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support, prayers, or shares you can provide for our boy.
