Help Duke Drive Towards His Dreams

Hey, it’s Duke! It’s an emergency and I am desperate. I am asking for your charity to help me raise money to buy a used car! The car I’ve been driving for the last 2-3 years has breathed her last. I’m seeking to raise $10,000 to buy a reliable, used vehicle and to cover the cost of registration and insurance for the rest of the year.

A vehicle is necessary for living and working in Dallas, TX. I am a full-time PhD student, smack dab in the middle of my program. Though I’m on an academic scholarship, I must still pay my way through school (tuition, fees, rent, medical, miscellaneous expenses, etc.). My university doesn’t offer loans or federal financial aid so I work two jobs. I work full time as a substitute teacher in the Duncanville Independent School District. I love being a sub because of the impact I make on the youth and because I can study while on the job. I also play drums for a church in Mansfield, TX, 30 minutes from where I live. We have (bi)weekly rehearsals and sometimes play extra services. Lastly, my company and brand, 4 the Glory, exists to inspire kids to maximize their potential through godly mentorship, creative arts, and hard work. While there is much overlap in my spheres of activity, to be immobile would severely hinder my work and progress. I’ve come too far to give up now.

Will you please consider sowing into my life so that I can continue doing the work God has for me to do? Any amount that you share is a seed that will be fruitful because you are sowing into fertile soil! I made this GoFundMe as a last-ditch option. If the situation wasn’t dire, I wouldn’t do this. I’ve gone as long as I could without resorting to this; I struggle with asking for help. But pride will only block the blessing.
