Help Duffy's wife Marina in this time of need
On March 3 Duffy Jackson, the legendary jazz drummer, tragically passed away following complications from hip replacement surgery. Duffy's death was a huge loss to the jazz community and his many friends, but it's been especially devastating for his wife, Marina Jackson. Not only has she unexpectedly lost the love of her life, she has been left in a difficult financial situation with substantial medical bills related to Duffy's surgery that she's unable to pay. Despite her grief Marina has worked tirelessly following Duffy's death to preserve his legacy by going through countless photos, recordings, and videos to ensure that the material can be used to create a documentary of Duffy's incredible life. Her devotion to Duffy is truly touching, but she needs our help now in paying Duffy's medical bills, taking care of her own daily expenses following the loss of Duffy's income, and funding the Duffy Jackson documentary which is already in the works. Duffy gave so much to all of us who were fortunate to know him, play with him, or hear his amazing playing. Despite the health issues he dealt with throughout his life, he never let them keep him from performing at the highest level. When it was showtime he was always trying to make people feel good. Duffy deserves recognition for his incredible career playing with jazz greats such as Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson, George Benson, Monty Alexander, and many others Please join me in honoring Duffy's life by supporting Marina, his "sweetie," in this time of need.
Sincerely,
Charles Treadway
