Help Dudley Cleveland Breathe Easier

Dudley Cleveland, one of my best friends for almost 40 years, has recently been diagnosed with interstitial lung disease (ILD). ILD causes scar tissue affecting the lungs’ ability to carry oxygen and making breathing difficult. There’s no “cure” for ILD and there is no reversing the scarring of the lung tissue. Dudley is now on oxygen 24/7. Because of the severity of his case, his care team has advised him he is no longer able to work.

Dudley was fired from his job while he was hospitalized last month. He has no health insurance and has had no income since mid-June. Now he is caught in the interminable application processes for unemployment, disability, SSI, and Medicare. The strain of his financial situation compounded by what he is going through physically is heartbreaking.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help relieve the stress of worrying about where the money for rent, utilities, food, and medical care is going to come from while Dudley awaits the decisions of various agencies. Please help him breathe a little easier by donating today.
