My name is Donna and I am a volunteer for Wise County Humane Society here in SW Virginia. This is one of the most sad places animal wise that I have ever seen. People here are extremely poor and seem to take in animals as comfort, and try to help them but do not have the means to do so unfortunately. We receive numerous calls every day about injured and unwanted animals, and how can we say no. But we do not have many volunteers and there is no funding except for what we can raise ourselves, which is minimal. Duckie really needs a leg amputation, but with so many more horrible situations daily, he has been held off. This poor baby came from a terrible situation and is still the most loving little boy. All I ask is if everyone can donate even the smallest amount, we can help him. Thank you.
