Help Duchess Have The Best Life!
Donation protected
As a lot of you know Duchess was not a candidate for TPLO surgery like we though! Once she was sedated for surgery more x-rays were taken and they showed that her remaining hip had severe osteoarthritis damage to it . She would not be considered a good candidate for hip replacement for that hip. After speaking to the vet I decided the best course of action was to keep Duchess as comfortable as possible. After further research I found a rear wheel chair company willing to make Duchess a set of wheels. They of course are not doing this for free! Lol ! They are called Eddie's Wheels and come highly recommend . My dad made a ramp yesterday, which we may need to add to, but right now the important thing is keeping her pain-free and her anxiety level low. To do that she is on several different medications and has several vet visits . I also ordered her all new joint supplements and all new food especially for German Shepherd joints. Duchess still needs our help. This is going to be a costly endeavor to keep her active and pain free as possible. I'm also calling the hydrotherapy lady tomorrow, because Dutch just loves the water , and I think she would benefit from the water therapy and taking that weight off of that bad leg! I know a lot of you have already donated, but share these new updates and if you can only give five dollars I will be grateful for five dollars! Let's keep Duchess as healthy as we can and living the best life that she can lead!
